CIVIL TECHNOLOGY
Civil Technology Objective
Civil Technology through his skill and expertise becomes an essential part of civil society by playing a very important role for the development of the country. Now, they are also responsible for looking after fire control systems and setting up quick fire exit points in the buildings they design. This will help in minimizing the loss of life and property during fire accidents. Another important aspect of civil engineering (Civil technology expert) is environmental engineering. In this case, civil engineers are concerned with the applications of various methods to purify contaminated air, water and soil. The polluted system should be cleaned, the waste removed and the purified component returned to the natural system.
Civil engineers are also responsible for building good quality transportation systems like highways, airports, rail lines, sea ports etc. A civil engineer is concerned with determining the right design for these structures and taking care of the construction process so that the longevity of these structures is guaranteed after completion. These structures should be comfortable to the public as well.
Duration and Assessment
Diploma in Civil Technology is a 4-year long program consisting of 8 semesters (1 semester = 6 months). The final and mid-term exams of each semester are conducted under the supervision of the Bangladesh Board of Technical Education (BTEB). All exam questions, answer script checks and final results are published by BTEB. Apart from this, every student has to attend regular class test, quiz test and semester final project. After successful completion, a student will receive a Diploma Certificate.
Admission process starts after SSC result. There is mainly one session in a year. Students have to follow the admission announcement given by the Bangladesh Board of Technical Education authority. Usually, the admission process starts after May (based on SSC result).
Career Potential

As a qualified Civil Technology you can find work in many sectors, especially in the construction sector, on buildings and large structures of all kinds, transport and communication infrastructure. You can also work for employers involved in the production, storage and distribution of electricity, gas and water.
Admission Eligibility
Minimum SSC, Dakhil and equivalent from any discipline with minimum GPA: 2.00.
HSC (Science) students can directly appear in 3rd semester
And HSC (Vocational) students can directly appear in 4th semester. (Passed Year 2011, GPA: 2.00)
Admission Guidelines
Students are advised to submit the admit card to the admission office.
To confirm admission, students must submit
- 4 copies of recent PP size photograph
- Main copy of SSC transcript
- Photocopy of NID card of parents.
- With the properly filled admit card.
Note: Students will be admitted for limited number of seats.
